What is Chess?

Chess is a 1v1 strategy game that has been played for thousands of years. Kings have fought on their chess boards rather than fighting and wasting real lives. Millions of people play chess globally, and it is one of the few games that truly anyone can play regardless of disabilities.

Chess is play on an 8x8 checkered board with each team having 16 pieces. Each team has 8 pawns, 1 King and Queen, and 2 of everything else. Each piece is unique in point value and the way that it can move. They are listed below.


Chess Pieces

  • King(Goal to Checkmate)
  • Queen(9 pts)
  • Rook(5pts)
  • Bishop(3pts).
  • Knight(3pts).
  • Pawn(1pt).


My Favorite Openings

As I have been only been playing chess for roughly 4 years, I am no expert, I just love the game. Below are some of my favorite openings, which are some basic first moves in the game that allow you to try different strategies.
